Don't let the name "common" fool you. Much like a mom, this milkweed’s a powerhouse with an irreplaceable job to do. Without her, the monarch butterfly life-cycle would be broken. Yet, she’s a constant hub of activity, her fragrant blooms a pollinator magnet. Once established she’s resilient, able to thrive under difficult conditions with little care. Stems & leaves contain bitter sap— a firm “don’t even try it” to pests. After all this, she releases silky-fluffed seeds, starting the cycle over again.
